KEEPING THE PACE
wouldn't it be wonderful if we had a built in cruise control in our lives. there are so many things that keep our walk with God flexing back and forth. it's like when i used to go to the car inspection place to emissions testing and they would ask me to keep the gas pedal pressed so the dial on the wall stayed between two lines. the more i tried to keep it going the same speed the more i'd over press and then let up to under press the pedal and back and forth. the guy would look at me and smile and then i'd get it right. i'm sure they had many people who couldn't just keep it between the lines. i find trying to keep my life between the lines is like the emissions test. just when i think i've got it going good, i press just a bit too far and then back the other way. i feel like i've got a worn trail to the throne of God from going back and forth in repentance. i'm just so glad that Jesus Christ is so full of mercy and grace and i'm glad that the Word of God gives me comfort to know that Paul spoke of the very same things when he said "The things I want to do I don't do and the things I don't want to do, I end up doing. what a wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from this body of death?" Lord i love you..... thanks for your ever continuing love for me and the grace that is unmeasurable!
