MERRY CHRISTMAS
Merry Christmas! It seems so simple of a phrase but it has become so difficult in a world that is in such a need of CHRISTmas. Why is it so difficult to have people say that one word? Who would be so hurt just to hear the word? Why does it bother some? I can’t even imagine that the word Christmas can hurt anyone or cause anyone very much harm UNLESS there is something really powerful in the spiritual realm about that one simple word…. Christmas….. hmmm….. is that why people are offended? The word Christ? Is that why people put an x before the word mas? Is there really not enough room on the paper or sign that the letter x has to replace Christ? I mean REALLY…. Who’s birthday does it represent in the first place? I know I know…. You say I didn’t sign up for this birthday…. Why do I have to celebrate it?..... You don’t! that’s the amazing thing about this thing, this season, this birthday. Nobody has to celebrate it…. It’s all voluntary. And yes it’s the same with your birthday too! Nobody has to celebrate your birthday either and yet they choose to do so because they love you and honor you because the day you were born was a very special day. Would it be odd if all of the sudden people didn’t want to sing happy birthday song to you using your name but replacing your name with some generic title? We would be angry and we would throw a fit and we might even ask those who would not honor you by singing your name to leave. But the reason they tell you is that your NAME is offensive to your neighbors and or a few people in the city….. you get my drift? So what is in the name? Demons must flee, sickness can’t stand up to the name, depression cannot stay at the name of Jesus Christ….. I’m not sorry that you would be offended at the name Merry Christmas nor do I apologize for saying it or singing it this time of the year. My Lord and savior Jesus Christ was born and I’m happy about it! I celebrate it! And I will continue proclaiming His birth for the rest of my life. For unto us a child is born, and his name is called Immanuel…. GOD WITH US!

Excellent! I like the refreshing look at it, from the perspectif of if it was my birthday. Most people would be offended and even say if you don't want to celebrate my birthday, then don't come to my party!
I heard an add on the radio yesterday that reflects the new lows our society has reached. It was from the University Bookstore. They said, "Whatever you celebrate, have a good one."
So Merry Christmas to you Pastor Dave, and to everyone that has a problem with that "Have a Good One"
