ACT LIKE MEN
1 Cor 16:13-14
13 Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. 14 Let all that you do be done in love. NASU
** Act like men…. This is a tough statement. “Act like men.” What does a man act like? We were all raised different and we watched different TV shows or movies that showed us what men were suppose to act like. Are they wrong or right? Well, the only real man I know was Jesus Christ. He showed us how to act like real men. I encourage you to go to the bible and read the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John) and pay attention to the red letters (just the words of Jesus) and if you follow the red letters, you will then be acting like a real man. Paul is saying to act like men and then he says “be strong.” So when people say that being a Christian is being less than a man and a wimp, the bible claims it different. You can be strong by being a man of the word of God.

Amen - we need to pay attention to Jesus's words about how to behave, not what the world says in movies, tv shows, books etc. etc.
I had an interesting conversation on the bus this morning with a gentleman named Dan. He sat down and said, "Are you reading about God?" It was such a sudden and unusual question. I realized that perhaps he has been observing me on the bus. I said, "Yes, I am." and showed him the book I was reading (God Catchers by Tommy Tenney). Then the next hour was all about God. He asked me if I have ever experienced a personal encounter (he actually used the encounter) and I said that I had and shared a testimony with him. He had so many questions, like why did Columbine happen, if God is so great why do things like that happen. Anyway, we talked about faith, God's word, why did He create man, when is He going to win the war and why is it taking so long. My goodness. Be praying for Dan because he is definitely searching and wanting to have a "personal encounter". I'm pretty sure I will have other opportunities to share God's love with him.
