UNIVERSALISM
Luke 9:20
20 "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "The Christ of God." NIV
** “Who do you say that I am?” This will be the most important questions in the days ahead. I am amazed in my current studies that I have found a new word floating around. “Universalism.” This belief is surfacing around the world and some of the most influential people in the world are using it. What is it? It’s the belief that there are many ways to God. That Jesus Christ is only one way of many way to eternal life. I am both excited and afraid! Excited because this is so much of what to expect of the end times and afraid because I’m not sure how much stuff we will need to go thru before we see Jesus return. The TRUE Christians will have to make a choice to either submit to this teaching because it will become a worldwide belief (if it isn’t already) and when we don’t accept this teaching and belief, we will be outcast and will be put away because of our resistance. I will be teaching on this this Sunday so hang on to your hat and fasten your seatbelts because I know this will be a doozie! Oh and by the way JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY….. there is no other way, name, religion to be save other than the name of Jesus Christ.

Very interesting, Pastor Dave. In the course of reading Dante's Divine Comedy I have run across many words that I needed to look up their definitions. Surprisingly I looked up the definition for heresy and heretic. There are usually several definitions, here are definitions for the word heresy:
1a - adherence to a religious opinion contrary to church dogma
1b - denial of a revealed truth by a baptized member of the Roman Catholic Church.
1b - an opinion, doctrine or practice contrary to the truth or to generally accepted beliefs or standards.
1c-dissent or deviation from a dominant theory, opinion or practice
Heretic:
1. a dissenter from established church dogma, especially a baptized member of the Roman Catholic Church, who disavows a revealed truth.
Well, then of course, I had to look up the definition for "dogma"
Dogma: 1a - something held as an established opinion (a definitive authoritative tenet)
1b - a point of view or tenet put forth as authoritative without adequate grounds.
1c - a doctrine, or body of doctrines concerning faith or morals formally stated and authoritatively proclaimed by a church.
Dogmatism - a viewpoint or system of ideas based on insufficiently examined premises. Positiveness in assertion of opinion, especially when unwarranted or arrogant.
Well all of this certainly gave me food for thought. Basically all these point to someone (heretic - me) who is a non-conformist who researches to determine what actually is truth rather than simply accepting and believing what others say is truth) So I guess that I am guilty of heresy according to the world and the Roman Catholic church (except that I am not baptized as a member of their church, but am a baptized member of the Body of Jesus Christ). As far as the Pharisees, Sadducees and majority of Jewish people were concerned, Jesus was a heretic and and therefore dangerous to society so they killed Him. Hmmmm?
So if a person dares to defy believing in this new word "universalism" I'm pretty certain that person will be considered a "heretic". You are right, we need to get ready, strapped in for a bumpy ride which is well on its way in momentum.
See you tonight.
