HATE EVIL
Prov 8:13
13 "The fear of the LORD is to hate evil;
Pride and arrogance and the evil way
And the perverted mouth, I hate. NASU
** What is the fear of the Lord?.... to hate evil? Notice later it says: Prov 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom…. So we can say that the fear of the Lord is when we start hating evil and this is what brings wisdom by hating evil. I’ve been told that you’re not suppose to hate anything but that’s not so…. HATE EVIL. A lot of people don’t like war and I’m not particularly fond of it either BUT if you have wisdom you have to hate and destroy evil. We see North Korea right now testing nuclear weapons so they can bully other nations into do what they want them to do. Look at Iran, who has said on camera that the only thing they want in life is to destroy Israel and now they are trying to finish making nuclear weapons. Both have tested missiles to see if they can reach other countries to destroy them. However, what constitutes evil? Here we are back at the big controversy…. What is truth? Until we know what truth is, we can’t compare to what would justify evil. God is truth…. Jesus said, “I am the way the TRUTH and the life.” So we’re back to the bible. If it lines up with the Word of God it’s truth and we must stand with it…. Tell me what you think….

So, I'm on the bus this morning, minding my own business, writing out my journal reading. A young man decides to sit next to me. I noticed him right away when he got on the bus and somehow sensed that he would sit next to me and this might be an appointment set up by the Lord. He watches me for a minute or so and then says, "I don't think I've ever seen such beautiful handwriting by someone writing on the bus." I thanked him and went back to my writing. Then he says, "Are you a preacher? I see you are writing out Proverbs." I replied, "No. I am just writing out God's word." He replies, "Why are you doing that?" I reply, "The Holy Spirit told me to write out the word of God this year. It has been very interesting and it has really helped me to understand what He is saying to me." I go back to my writing. The Holy Spirit says, "Keep the conversation going." I asked the young man (about 20 or so) if he went to church. He says "No." I go back to my writing and don't respond. He iniates the conversation again and says, "I don't go to church because I believe in many things. I believe in God, I believe that Jesus was an important figure in religion, but I don't believe that an all powerful God would limit Himself to be a man." I nod and go back to my writing and to think about what to respond. Then I look at him and ask him his name, which he says is Chaz. I introduce myself and say to him, Chaz, I would like to tell you what I believe." He nods okay. I say, "I believe that God loves us so much that He sent His Son Jesus, who is God, in the form of man so that He could relate to us here on earth. He intentionally 'limited' Himself so that He could give His life for all of us and He rose and now sits at the right hand of God interceding for all of us. Because He limited Himself, we can now all have access to God the Father and that was God's plan from the beginning to reconcile all His children here on earth so that we could each have a personal relationship with Him, through the death of His Son for our sins. Nothing is impossible with God." He was very polite and listened. Then I asked Him if He had ever read the Bible in its entirety, or the Quaran (Koran) or the Book of Mormons, or any other books that talk about God. He said He had read some of the Bible. He had not read the Koran, but knows that Jesus is important in this book. He said he knows that somehow we are all part of Abraham.
In all, a very interesting conversation. I told Chaz that I look at my day as 'going to school and that he was part of my university learning for this day and that I enjoyed talking with him and that he should continue to seek for God. I said, "One more thing I would like to share with you. God's plan was not for religions to spring up all over the earth. That was man's plan. Man tinkered with God's plan and invented all the different religions out of arrogance, thinking that man knows better than God how to live in right relationships with Him or anyone for that matter. God's plan is for people to have a personal relationship with Him and therefore He sent His son Jesus to earth for that purpose."
So that's is how my day started - reading the truth of God's word and hopefully sharing His truth with one of His children who has lots of confused ideas about who He is.
Hmmm? I wonder if I will see Chaz in heaven someday. I pray I do. Lord, continue to put people of faith (not religion) in Chaz's path that he would come to know You as His Lord and Savior. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
