AFTER HIS HEART
Acts 13:22
22 But God removed him from the kingship and replaced him with David, a man about whom God said, 'David son of Jesse is a man after my own heart, for he will do everything I want him to.'
NLT
** Why was David, called by God, “a man after my own heart?” FOR HE WILL DO EVERYTHING I WANT HIM TO. Is it really that simple? I mean to become a man after God’s own heart? That is, if you think doing everything God wants you to do simple…. Even though David made some pretty bad mistakes and murdered…. Etc. He is still called “a man after God’s heart” hundreds of years later in the New Testament. I think this is just another picture God wants to show us, that He is not interested in your sinless life but your life of obedience and faithfulness to Him. What are you suppose to be doing in your life for Him right now? Are you doing it? What little things have you heard from Him? Are you doing them? You can be like a lot of unfaithful, disobedient children or you can me a man or woman after God’s own heart….. the choice is yours…. What will you do? What will they write about you a hundred years from now?

I write this with tears in my eyes. I so want to touch the Lord's heart with my love, to always be chasing after His heart. As I write this one of my dear friends over the years is about to step from earth into His presence in His glorious throne room and will be cancer free (just like Janet) and I ponder at how I can be sad at her going, yet joyful for her journey at the same time. It is so hard on those who are left behind to continue the sojourn of this earthly life when someone we love and care about finally gets to truly "go home" ahead of us. Then I remember how the Father loves us so much that He sent His son to us and then Jesus left to go back to the Father "ahead" of us to prepare a place for us that we might be with Him. Thank you Father God for loving us so much.
I continue to chase after You always hoping to catch a glimpse of You here and knowing that soon enough I will be with You eternally. Thank You Lord, for placing "eternity" in my heart (Eccleastes 3:11), which has always sparked me to seek after You.
In His Strong Grip,
Roxanne
