ONE NIGHT WITH THE KING

Ok, Ok, I'm always so picky about movies about the bible times because they always have to hollywoodize everything. Several parts were very moving and Tandi and I did enjoy most of the movie. The problem I had wasn't that we didn't understand the movie but my concern is that if anyone who goes and watches the movie without first reading or understanding the story of Esther they will get lost thoughout the movie. I also thought they needed to make more of a difference in the two characters of Mordicai and the General to the king. I kept getting them mixed up because they were dressed quite abit alike and the story line just didn't seem clear enough. It definately is a matinee watch and also a video rental watch or even buy but first read the book of Esther and then watch the movie.

Thanks, Pastor Dave. I definitely agree - if I had not read the book of Esther the movie would have been a bit confusing and it probably would not have had the same impact. I hope more people check out your "blog". I will try to remember to tell people to read "Esther" before seeing the movie.
