I TOLD YOU SO

Jer 7:13-1513 While you were doing these wicked things, says the LORD, I spoke to you about it repeatedly, but you would not listen. I called out to you, but you refused to answer. 14 So just as I destroyed Shiloh, I will now destroy this Temple that was built to honor my name, this Temple that you trust for help, this place that I gave to you and your ancestors. 15 And I will send you into exile, just as I did your relatives, the people of Israel.' NLT** Sounds like a parent talking to their teenager.... I wonder how many parents can relate to this verse? During these verses God over and over tells them that He loves them and wants the best for them and paves the way for them and yet the scripture says “they continued to do their own thing.” (later in the chapter reading) I’ve done it, you’ve done it, we’ve all done it right? I mean, we are walking along and then “Bam” a temptation comes along (fill in the blank) and then the great debate starts. The Holy Spirit begins to warn me not to do it and I begin to make excuses and argue about it or sometimes I just ignore Him and His warnings and keep on with the sin! Even while I am still in the middle of sinning, God still warns me to stop. I often times find myself reaping junk because I sowed junk. The good? God is always there during my sowing and reaping and forgives me IF I would just ask Him and have a repentant heart. Oh what a faithful God I serve. He truly is a loving God forgiving my sins over and over again!

What an amazing God we serve! Even while we were still sinners Christ died for us. And somehow I, like Paul, always seem to do the things that I don't want to do and don't do the things I want to. I so often times take for granted God's love and grace for me. Even still, God is always faithful and He loves me enough to allow me to go through hard times so that I come running desperately for Him and once AGAIN say that I am sorry. Can I just say again.....What an amazing God we serve!
