DON'T GO CHANGIN
Luke 8:36-37
36 Then those who had seen what happened told the others how the demon-possessed man had been healed. 37 And all the people in that region begged Jesus to go away and leave them alone, for a great wave of fear swept over them. NLT
** How amazing that they “begged” Jesus to go away and leave them alone! I can’t imagine ever NOT wanting Jesus to be around me….. Unless I am in sin and like my sin and would feel condemned for Jesus to be standing there watching. They were Jews and they were raising pork…. What else were they doing in that town that would make them “beg” Jesus to leave them alone? Today there are many people who beg Jesus to leave them alone. Most of those people are people who enjoy the sinful life that they are in and they don’t want change. People want to go to church to feel good about themselves but they don’t like it if the preacher preaches against sin. Each of us have a choice, do we want change in our lives enough to let Jesus come into our town and live there? I want to be the one that “begs” Jesus to stay.

Wise counsel indeed. This morning I was reading Psalms 127 and it reminded me of your message last Sunday. If we are faithful and obedient in God's ways we have nothing to fear.
Psalm 127 - "Unless the Lord builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the Lord protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good. It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to His loved ones."
I believe God's judgement is falling on America - she has forgotten God, denied His sovereignty. If it weren't so tragic, it would almost be funny watching the so-called leaders in government and the financial sector of our nation (and around the world) scrambling to try and fix the economic mess they have created by their greed, their arrogant dismissal of a powerful, living God, disobedience, denial of God's truths. In all the flurry, I have not heard one of them mention God. Not one is seeking His help (except for true followers of Christ). The world people are bickering amongst themselves, each believing they have the better answer. It is painful to observe all the madness. But I believe with all my heart that God will protect and provide for His people and it is crucial that we stay as close to Him as possible, obeying all His commands, for it is going to be our honor and privilege and responsibility to minister to those who don't know him, when they finally come to the end of themselves and do seek His help. It will all be for His glory and honor and we must be ready.
Thank you Lord, for my pastor and leaders at Celebration Church who have been so diligent in training us so we will be able to stand for You in the difficult times that upon us. In Jesus name, amen.
