MUSIC = PRESENCE
2 Kings 3:13-15
14 Elisha said, " As the LORD of hosts lives, before whom I stand, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look at you nor see you. 15 "But now bring me a minstrel." And it came about, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
NASU
** This is a clear picture of how important worship and music go with the presence of God. Elisha was faced with giving a word of God to the kings and the first thing he does is call for a musical instrument so the music can usher in the presence of God. Worship is so vital and important to our churches when we gather because it too will usher in the presence of God so we can hear from Him. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve just been sitting there on a Sunday morning and when a certain song comes and the congregation begins to sing it and the presence of the Lord moves right into the sanctuary. I mean you can physically feel Him move in. sometimes we will worship long and other times it will be short, but our goal is to get ourselves prepared to hear from God thru His word the bible. Worship is also very important to our daily lives too. If we fill our lives with music that ushers in the presence of God not only will we experience His presence everyday, we also won’t have to wait until Sunday to experience His presence.
