NO MATTER WHAT

Hab 3:17-19
17 Though the fig tree should not blossom
And there be no fruit on the vines,
Though the yield of the olive should fail
And the fields produce no food,
Though the flock should be cut off from the fold
And there be no cattle in the stalls,
18 Yet I will exult in the LORD,
I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.
19 The Lord GOD is my strength,
And He has made my feet like hinds' feet,
And makes me walk on my high places.
For the choir director, on my stringed instruments.
NASU
** No matter what….. what I get from Him does not determine how I praise or serve Him. My source of happiness must not depend on receiving but on giving. Only when I truly serve will I truly receive. This is a real “test me” verse. What am I really in this for? Is it just to be blessed and get my way or is it because I’ve found true happiness and fulfillment in serving an awesome God.

PD -
Your teaching is oh so true. It immediately brought to my mind and heart what Job said in 13:15 - "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him."

Things have been difficult the last couple of weeks, what with my hours being cut at work (because of the downturn in the economy), but NO MATTER WHAT, I continue to praise Him and exalt Him. He is my source, my life, my One and Only.

You have been on my heart and mind all week and just wanted you to know that because your heart is broken, so is mine. I lift you up continually to Him that He may strengten you moment by moment.

Psalm 51:17 - "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart - these, O God, you will not despise."

Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit."

Isaiah 66:2 -..."but on this one will I look; on him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My word."

In His Strong Grip,
Roxanne
