The Worst of the Worst

Matt 27:2121 "Which of the two do you want me to release to you?" asked the governor.
"Barabbas," they answered. NIV

Ok, so here Pilot chooses the worst of the worst to compare with Jesus KNOWING that surely the people would choose Jesus over someone who would terrorize their neighborhoods. But the people choose the worst of the worst and would pay the price for crucifying Jesus. Often times we give up great things in our lives and futures for the selfish gratifying moments that we choose. Here was Jesus, who if one would just follow and obey, offered peace, joy, comfort and life to the fullest! And on the other side stood Barabbas the thief, murderer and everything that represented evil. And they choose? Evil, corruption and sinfulness over LIFE. Oh that we would just take time to examine our surroundings before we make such quick choices.
