GETTING AWAY?

Matt 14:13-14
Now when Jesus heard about John, He withdrew from there in a boat to a secluded place by Himself; and when the people heard of this, they followed Him on foot from the cities. 14 When He went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and felt compassion for them and healed their sick. NASU
** Here we find Jesus saddened by the death of His cousin John. However in the midst of His going away to be alone, Jesus sees the people still coming to Him to be healed. Jesus had every right to have His alone time but dug deep within Himself, even in the midst of mourning the death of a loved one, and ministered to the crowds by healing their sick. I’m amazed at how easy it is for me to just want to get away from it all because the pressures of ministry and life. I need to be more like Jesus and press on in ministry even though I want to have my own way.
