IF MY PEOPLE?......

2 Chron 7:13-15
13 " If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, 14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 " Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place. NASU** I’ve always quoted and heard people quote 2 Chr. 7:14 but when you read the previous chapters before it and the verse before it, you realize God was warning His people about sinning and leaving His commandments. It’s very clear that God wants to bless His people (including you and me!) however God makes it very clear throughout this chapter that our sin will bring destruction to our lives. Today, I choose to focus on the goodness of God and not the discipline. I choose to walk away from sin and live in His righteousness. Then I don’t have to worry about what bad things might come because I’m living in the good things He has done.
