Rom 2:28-29

28 For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the Jewish ceremony of circumcision. 29 No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God.

This verse reminds me of Americans. So many people believe they are Christians just because they live in the USA! So people go around doing good things and thinking that everything is ok with their eternal resting place. The bible is VERY clear about this. Look at this passage from Ephesians:
Eph 2:8-10
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. NIV The WORKS come AFTER the GRACE of God. Listen, it can’t be any easier than this. Why do we make it more difficult than it is? Now I will say that this country was built on Christian foundations and we should never forget that. (it seems that people that are non believers in Christ Jesus are trying or have re-written our history and I would expect this from cowards that do not have a back bone to stand up for what is right.) But just because American was founded on Christian values does not make you a Christian any more than swimming in the lake makes you a fish! If we are Christians (which means “Christ – Like”) we should be accused of “acting like Christ” by other people. But even acting like Christ doesn’t get you to heaven. Only thru your coming to Jesus and asking Him to forgive you of your sins and asking Him to live in you and thru you AND THEN act like a Christian, do good things for others etc. “God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have everlasting life”…… No works added.
