FRIENDS

Prov 17:17
17 A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. NIV** It is good to have friends. It has been said that if you only have 2 good friends at the end of your life, you are most blessed among men. My kids used to be bothered because they didn’t get any letters or mail from anyone and they would ask me why. I told them you’ve got to send a letter to get a letter. That is also true with friends. You have to start being a friend in order to get friends. Although I also believe that God sends at least one person in everyone’s lives to be a true friend and companion. I’m not talking about your spouse, even though I think everyone should be best friends with your spouse, (it makes things MUCH easier that way), I’m talking about someone who accepts you as you are but does not keep you as you are but pushes you to be more. (by the way, if you are married the big No No is to have a friend of the opposite sex…. It just starts problems and more than likely will end up with problems at home no matter what your spouse says….. there will be problems.) I’ve heard that the definition of a spouse is: the person you married to help you through the problems you wouldn’t have if you wouldn’t have married them in the first place.” J It’s always good to know that you have someone who will be there during the hard times and good times. So make friends… as many as you can…. But mostly be a friend to as many people as you can.
