TROUBLE!

2 Chron 8:11
11 Solomon moved his wife, Pharaoh's daughter, from the City of David to the new palace he had built for her. He said, "My wife must not live in King David's palace, for the Ark of the LORD has been there, and it is holy ground." NLT
** Ok, so anytime you can’t bring something (relationships, lifestyle, etc) to or leave something in the presence of God, something is wrong. As I read this scripture I get RED FLAGS flying everywhere…. I’m continually amazed at Christians who dabble in the world by dating or ESPECIALLY marrying non-believers. This is the beginning of the end for Solomon and by the way, if Solomon couldn’t handle dating or marrying non-followers of God being the wisest person in the world, why do you think you can handle it? Paul is very clear… “Come out from among them (world) and be separate.” Next time you get ready to make a relationship decision, ask yourself this. “can this relationship handle Holy Ground?”

As I read about Solomon's wives and concubines this morning I was saddened as I saw his relationship with the Lord lessened as he indulged himself in worldly pleasures and moved farther and farther away from God. He became self centered and greedy, disobedient and rebellious, prideful and arrogant.
I found myself asking God to forgive me for my laziness and to strengthen me against the pull of the world. But it is my responsibility to draw on His strength by being obedient to His word. He won't force me to be obedient. I have to make that choice and take action.
