LUKEWARM
Rev 3:14-16
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation. 15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm — neither hot nor cold — I am about to spit you out of my mouth. NIV
** Ok, so it’s a very used scripture that I’ve heard over and over again thru out my life. God knows my deeds and by my deeds he can tell if I’m lukewarm or hot or cold. He wishes that I was hot and not cold but mostly that I would not be lukewarm. The thing that made me think about is that “He knows my deeds.” I think that the church and Christians, are living such lukewarm lives that the world sees our deeds too and sees that we are not hot or cold and they too spit us out of their mouths. I also noticed that it doesn’t say that He has spit us out but that He is about to spit us out. This shows me that He desperately wants us to repent from our lukewarm lives so we won’t have to be spit out.

Oh my gosh - you were thinking the same things I was this morning, Pastor Dave. I wrote in my journal this morning: "Oh, God, you know all of my thoughts, desires, deeds. Like King David proclaims in his writings, there is no where that I can escape from Your perusal of me. I do not want to escape though. I need You, I seek Your face constantly. The moment when I will truly see You face to face can't come soon enough. I long for it so deeply. God I sense hard times fast approaching. Let me not become fearful or self-centered about my own preservation, but help me to think of others and their peril if I do not speak of You and Your love for them. You don't want any to be lost, so You are holding back the tribulations that must come (as You have ordained), giving everyone time to grow stronger and closer to You. Otherwise how will we ever be able to stand, be brave, be bold to proclaim You to others who do not yet know You or fully comprehend Your holiness, might and sovereignty over everything in the universe.
