DECISIONS DECISIONS
1 Chron 21:17
17 David said to God, "Is it not I who commanded to count the people? Indeed, I am the one who has sinned and done very wickedly, but these sheep, what have they done? O LORD my God, please let Your hand be against me and my father's household, but not against Your people that they should be plagued. NASU
** I’ve always been bothered by this passage. Why did God kill thousands of innocent people because of David’s sin? So I prayed and prayed some more and I began to realize that the choices of leaders carry a strong consequence not only to them but to those they serve. You see the phrase “those they serve?” If you are truly a leader, your heart will suffer when those you are leading suffer. Often times we don’t see bad things happen to leaders when they make stupid decisions and people around them fall and die but I will tell you today that those leaders will be judged by God at a given time weather here on earth or standing before Him at His throne. We see presidents make decisions that will destroy thousands of babies or thousands of people who serve our country and the president only loses the next election but others die…. They will be judged, I guarantee that but the question is…. What are we doing in our choices as leaders now that we know that our very decisions could cost someone their lives? I don’t know about you, but it makes me fear God and pay closer attention to the decisions that I make today.
