WHY ARE WE DEFEATED?

1 Kings 8:33-34
33 " When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy, because they have sinned against You, if they turn to You again and confess Your name and pray and make supplication to You in this house, 34 then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers. NASU
** Defeated because they sinned? As I read thru this chapter I see that there are consequences for sin…. Go figure…. It surely is amazing to me that people…. God’s people… Christians…. Sit around wondering why they are being defeated and their lives are horrible and nothing goes right and yet they live like the world and submit to the things that the world has to offer. God is a great parent and will not let us be rebellious and do things that are destructive to our spirits. I’m glad that God so loves us that He gives us a spanking when we need it so we can live in righteousness after we repent.

Dad...
Thank you for standing up for righteousness even when people are cruel and ungodly. You are showing a great example of when Jesus says to pray for those who persecute you. Whoever it is that keeps sending you junk will have to pay the consequences...and what a relief you don't have to do it...God will repay for all of the evil...for the scripture says that revenge is His. You are the mature one in all of this...never give that up. I wish I could see their faces when they truly meet God and realize that God disapproves of speaking badly of any leader...for God places all authority where it is..both godly and ungodly. It's not for us to judge leaders...even King David knew this of Saul when God rejected him as king.
I love you...Amy
