HOW COULD HE?

1 Kings 11:9-10
9 Now the LORD was angry with Solomon because his heart was turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice, 10 and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he did not observe what the LORD had commanded. NASU
** This is so sad. Here the God of the universe appears to Solomon TWICE to warn him about not going after other gods and yet he still disobeyed and walked away from God. APPEARD TO HIM TWICE! I know many people including me would jump at a chance to have God appear to them. I would imagine that if God did appear to me, that I would stop and listed very carefully to every word He said and work my hardest to obey everything that He told me. Was Solomon too comfortable with God? Did he stop fearing God the way he should have? I am stumped on this one because of the wonderful life that God gave him and after appearing to him twice, he still chose to walk away from all the blessings of God….. amazing!
