Our New Home

It is with great joy that I am able to write this letter. Thank you Celebration Church for your patience and hard work over the past 3 months. It is amazing at how much we have accomplished for the kingdom of God. I was so happy to be able to present you with our plan this morning and I’m excited to see each and every one of you with the willingness to continue to work not only for the kingdom of God but for our first building in 15 years! As I watched each of you wonder through the building today I felt I was looking at children on Christmas morning. All the plans and excitement on what you want to see happen at the new location gave me much excitement about the future of what we will accomplish for our city and the kingdom of God. I love each one of you and I look forward to taking this next step of God’s plan in the future of CFC.

SPIRIT RULES

1 Cor. 9:27
But I discipline my body and make it may slave; so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

Keeping my body under control is one of the most challenging things in my life! I have to often ask myself this question; “who’s in charge here, my spirit or my flesh?”
How do I keep my flesh in control? I want a donut, but I don’t have one. I want a Pepsi, but I don’t have one. No sugar for a while, no TV for a while. Whatever I love in the flesh I often give up for a time of bodily discipline. I have to continue to think, “it’s not about me, it’s about HIM (Jesus). It’s not about me it’s about THEM (non-followers of Christ). They need Jesus so very much and I can’t let me stand in the way of their salvation.

God Loves You

God really does love you. so many times we go thru life and look at all the bad that is in the world and all the unanswered prayers. With all the junk that we face sometimes it can be so easy to think about the bad over the good. Well, I'm so glad that I serve a GOOD God! He loves you and wants the best for you. Every time I think about all the bad and stuff I just remember Jer 29:11 The plans I have for you declairs the Lord, are plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future." God is so good to us and His love endures forever and ever. David said "Taste and see that the Lord is GOOD." Many people ask me, "why does bad things happen?" I must say that I'm not totally sure and I probably could come up with a good answer but one thing I do know, according to the Bible, God is good! James says "every GOOD give and every PERFECT gift comes down from the Father of lights, whom there is not changing. Is God good or bad..... I choose GOOD!

What's New?

New shoes, New Car.... itsn't it great to get new things? Well.... at least until it takes time to get used to them. Like when you buy new shoes there has to be a break in time so they won't blister your feet etc. Old feet in new shoes and boy does your feet tell you that they want to be boss of the shoes. However both feet and shoes have to give in a little for the walk to be a comfortable walk. God often brings new things in our lives so we can be changed just like Him. I must admit, that when I put my flesh in those Jesus shoes, there just seems to be alot of pain and conforming to do. My Jesus shoes doen't give in a whole lot so it requires more of me changing than anything and I must not resist or I will walk with a limp because of my blisters.

Trust Him

Deut. 7:22 The Lord your God will clear away these nations before you little by little: you will not be able to put an end to them quickly, for the wild beast would grow too numerous for you.

The Lord hates our enemies as much as we do! He even hates the obstacles that are in our way too. But He has a plan, and even though we don’t always see His plan and though He doesn’t reveal His plan like He did above, He does have a plan that will use the enemy and his obstacles for your victory and His glory.CHILDREN: Next time it seems that the problem you have won’t go away when you want it to, just wait upon the Lord for His timing. He sees the whole plan from above and He knows what you need when you need it and He will be there when the time is right. The thought I want to leave you with is “TRUST HIM” and know He’s got it all figured out.

God is moving

I just recently caught the last part of a church service in East Wenatchee, WA. My friend Sal DiMare is the Pastor there and as I walked in the back door I found myself jealous for the power of God. It seems that as we go thru life trying to reach people for Christ, we stop pressing for the greatness of God and His presence and instead we settle for sometimes a watered down message that we think will not offend the un-churched around us. As I see the behind the scenes I find it’s much more than just wanting the greatness of the presence of God but you must desire it so much you must be willing to pay for it! How can one pay for it you might ask? Time. Yes time spent calling on God to show Himself to you and those around you. I often find myself so busy with all other important things that I leave the passion of calling out to God for other times when I’m desperate for a miracle or when someone is in deep trouble. I choose today to start calling out to God for His presence in my life and in the life of my church. I know He wants to show us His greatness it’s just are we willing to pay the price?

Decisions Decisions

Decisions, Decisions..... every day we face different decisions and each one we make not only makes a difference in our lives but also in the lives around us. As a pastor, I must admit that I am often fearful of the things that I say and advise from the pulpit. Even though I make mistakes, the word of God never fails. What God says in His word is what He will do. He is the only faithful and true God and we must put our trust in Him and give Him our all. Can I truly read the Bible and become successful in what it says? ABSOLUTELY! If we can't trust the word of God then there is nothing else that is stable enough to put my trust in. This is why it's so important to read His word every day. When I open the bible each day I believe that God has something to say to me and I read it exactly that way.... "what is God saying to me to day and what am I going to do about it?"
