BALAAM

Num 22:26-29 27 When the donkey saw the angel of the LORD, she lay down under Balaam, and he was angry and beat her with his staff. 28 Then the LORD opened the donkey's mouth, and she said to Balaam, "What have I done to you to make you beat me these three times?"
29 Balaam answered the donkey, "You have made a fool of me! If I had a sword in my hand, I would kill you right now." NIV

NOTE: Balaam answered the donkey? Normally! NOT: "A talking donkey?" Somethings I just don't understand..... It's just another place in the bible that shows me that God is willing to use stupid and weird people to do what He needs done here on earth. It also shows me that God is very forgiving and willing to start over with us if we let Him.

I'm back from Colorado, and it's nice to be home. Amy and I had a good time together eating too much (as she put it) and just spending time together. I was glad to be able to be with her on her 20th birthday. Some people would think that I spoil my kids and I must agree I do! I have three wonderful children and I'm so glad that I've never had to bail them out of jail or pick them up at parties drunk etc. They have all be so good and I am proud of them and believe everything I give to them is nothing but pure Godly investments in the kingdom of God.

TIRED IN COLORADO

Hey everyone! Second day in Colorado and it's been really interesting. Oil leaks on Amy's car to be fixed and a major tire blow out while trying to fix the oil. (seems the cheapy oil change place didn't tighten the oil filter.... :( ) Got up at 5:30am to go work out with Amy.... oh did I mention that I couldn't get to sleep until 3:30am???? I'm at choir practice with her now and I attended all her classes today. Happy Birthday Amy, you are amazing in all you do... I truly am proud of you!

HEADED TO DENVER

So I’m flying out to Denver tomorrow at noon. I really don’t like flying but then there are parts of me that are just amazed at the way the plane stays in the air. I mean it’s actually breaking the law as it soars into the sky. That’s what I love so much about God. He can do anything he wants to and doesn’t need any laws to keep Him boxed in. Just as the plane defies gravity upon take off, I’ve seen God defy different things to see His people blessed, healed and taken care of. He really does love us and keeps us on His mind every day. I’ve heard that if God had a refrigerator our pictures would be on it and I agree. Today’s journal covers the 23 Psalms and I just love the way David wrote it. Not wanting? Laying in Green pastures? Still waters? Soul restored? You read it and look at all the blessings and provisions He sets up for us everyday. “Surely GOODNESS and MERCY will follow me all the days of my life and I will DWELL IN THE HOUSE OF THE LORD FOREVER!”
Thanks Lord Jesus, for providing a way for me out of despair and disaster.

A NEW GENERATION OF CHURCH

I sit here in my living room surrounded by 7 teenage boys. In the normal sense this would be a very scary thing for me. However they are here for one reason and one reason only “BATTLECRY!” This is a generation of teens that want to see a difference with their generation. They say that if things don’t change for these teens, that only 4 percent will stay Christians thru adult hood. We need to pray! Pray like we’ve never prayed before. We need to pray for this lost generation and pray that they will become bold for the sake of God’s kingdom. Pray that they will give up on the world and start following Jesus. Pray the each one of them will get a vision or revelation from God and clearly see what His plans are for their lives. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!

VALENTINES

Ok, here we are coming up on valentines day just one day away and everyone is working like crazy to find somthing that shows that certain someone how much they love them. If you're not a gifts giver, you've been sweating it out now for many weeks just trying to find that gift that will bring a huge smile on their face. Now I believe in gift giving, don't get me wrong, but what most couples need is assurance that their partner will be faithful and stay around through thick and thin for the rest of their lives. So what is the best gift? Get a certificate made that promises that you will be faithful to them for the rest of your life...... risky you say? My response? Where are you planning on going? You are planning on staying with them (I'm talking to married people now) for the rest of your lives right? The greatest thing I can hear my wife say to me is that she promises to always be faithful to me and to never leave me. With a promise like that, every day is valentines day!

LOVE IS IN THE AIR

Love is in the air and valentines day is just around the corner. Have you made plans for the love of your life or are you really dreading this time of the year because you are alone and without someone to share this moment with? Ok, I know there can be a ton of mixed emotions about what I’m writing right now, but I want you to know that God has you where you are with whom you’re with for a reason. We must all remember God’s plans above our own. So what do we do with this holiday? Well, if you’re MARRIED to someone, then do your best to show them (this doesn’t mean you have to spend a lot of money… there are plenty of other ways.) your honor and respect and love. Try to speak THEIR love language. EXAMPLE: If your spouse’s love language is gift giving then of course make sure you get out there and find the most excellent gift that shows your love for them. If their love language is personal touch and affection, then….. well, I hope if you’ve been married for over 5 years, I don’t have to give you tips but if you need a little help then get the kids out of the house (if you have them) and set up your own romantic massage room and get the oils out and give them the best massage of their life while showering them with great words of encouragement. Read the Song of Solomon together etc. etc. etc. DATING? (although I don’t necessarily agree with this, it’s obvious people will still adapt to this way of knowing each other) Be very careful about letting your feelings go too far. Always remember you can RARELY ever take steps backward in your relationship once you’ve moved forward in physical attraction. Make this a time of growing in your friendship. Use this time to match up Godly goals in your life and see what changes need to be made to be unified in your walk with Christ. I would HIGHLY suggest that you don’t do this night alone as a couple but that you find others that would like to go out together or have dinner at someone’s house as a couples night out. I would also recommend that you be very careful about your physical touch and keep it at a minimum….. REMEMBER you each need to respect each other as God’s daughters and sons. Oh, and by the way DO NOT read Song of Solomon together….Not smart BEFORE marriage. SINGLE? Ok, I know most of you at this point despise this time of the year because it seems to leave you out of the picture. I ask you one question: “where is your focus?” I mean, what or who rules and controls your life? I hope your answer is God. Always remember that He knows what you are going thru and He is ultimately the answer to your loneliness. My suggestion? Make a dinner appointment with Him as if you are preparing for a date. Bring two pieces of paper one for you and one for Him. Sit down after dinner and begin to write your goals and dreams you have in becoming complete in Him describe in detail your calling to His ministry and the steps you need to take to get where you believe He is directing you to. On the second paper begin to write negotiable and non-negotiable characteristics you want to see in your future spouse. EXAMPLE: do you want someone who is interested in full time ministry thru the church or are you called to be a missionary, then list on the paper you are looking for someone who has a complete calling to missions. REMEMBER, not just someone who gives to missions thru the church but if you are called to be a missionary then you need a person who is being trained or is trained to be a missionary too. When you are done with your dinner date with God, fold your papers up and each time you meet someone who you seem to like, take out the paper and re-read them to make sure you are staying on track with what God has called you to.

TIME

Ok, think of the word TIME and try to see how many songs you can come up with with the word time in the lyrics.
My first song is “time keeps on slippin…..” and one that is not what I’m feeling lately is “Time, is on my side…..” Not only is time NOT on my side, but I feel like lately Time has declaired an all out war against everything I need to get done! Paul tells us to “make the most of the time, for the days are evil.” Oh how I wish I could just hit my life Tivo button and rewind and review and start over on so many things that I’ve messed up on. So with so many missed blogs that I would like to post each day, instead I’m going to make an effort to update my blog. Every Tuesday and Thursday or Friday. That way each of you will know that there will be something at least on those two days and if I actually become super blogger, then I’ll blog on other day too. Blessings on you all who take time to read my blogs and thanks for all the great comments you give to me.
